2. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the MedClear app or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use MedClear.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of MedClear after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

5. Your Account

6. Free Tier and Premium Subscription

Free tier: New users receive 3 free AI translations per day for the first 7 days from sign-up. After this period, a Premium subscription is required to use the Medical Translator.

Premium subscription: Available at £2.99/month or £19.99/year. All payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never handle your payment card details directly.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are given for partial periods.

Price changes: We may change subscription prices with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

7. Fair Use Policy

MedClear Premium provides access to our AI-powered Medical Translator. While we describe this access as “unlimited,” it is subject to a fair use policy designed to ensure a reliable, high-quality service for all our subscribers and to prevent misuse.

The vast majority of our users will never be affected by this policy. It exists only to manage exceptional, unusually high levels of usage.

Under normal personal use, a Premium subscriber may carry out up to 100 AI translations per calendar month. This limit resets at the beginning of each calendar month.

If you reach your monthly fair use limit, the Medical Translator is not switched off — instead, a short waiting period applies between translations for the remainder of that month. This allows you to keep using the service while helping us keep MedClear sustainable. All other MedClear features, including the Quiz, Glossary, Scenarios, Decode It, and Word of the Day, remain fully available as normal, and your full allowance refreshes at the start of the next calendar month.

Each AI translation carries a processing cost. This fair use policy allows us to keep MedClear affordable while continuing to offer a generous level of access that comfortably meets the needs of everyday users.

MedClear Premium is intended for personal, individual use. Accounts may not be shared, and the Translator may not be used for automated, bulk, commercial resale, or other excessive purposes. We reserve the right to suspend or restrict accounts that breach this policy. We may also review and adjust the fair use limit from time to time, with any changes reflected in this policy.
